I am looking towards the end of the day, simply because it’s my weekend off which is what every employee looks forward to. Then the General (a colleague) starts complaining of Mental block and this makes me realize am also suffering from the same. I have not had an idea on anything for my blog till now. So, what is Mental block?
A mental block is either a repression of painful thoughts, or an inability to continue a train of thought, like in the case of writer’s block.
In the case of writer's block, many find it helpful to take a break and revisit their topic. Another tactic that is used when people with mental blocks are learning new information is repetition. Mental blocks can be caused by physical disabilities or simply a lack of focus. Mental blocks are also often used to describe a temporary inability to recall a name or other information.
Mental blocks can happen from lack of sleep. Many turn to therapy in order to discover the mental barriers that are holding them back and causing them pain.
The solution to mental blocks is easy in relation to what had caused it; if you do not have enough sleep, please shut down your laptop and go home get some sleep. On the other hand if you have a lot in your mind, please go seek a counselor’s attention. Many journalists see lots of tormenting and disturbing things in their careers. I am told by my family that I have become a little bit heartless because I can see a dead body and will not be moved. That’s how bad we and I need to get help before the images block my ‘tool of trade’.
