“I have officially stepped down because I do not want to be the cause of political divisions and unnecessary tension in the President’s backyard,” he said.
“At times it’s important to step away from the tree in front of you in order to behold the forest,” he added.
Kamere, who was accompanied by his wife and TNA contestant Moses Kuria for the seat said he had already written to the IEBC of his withdrawal and called for peace and support from his supporters.
“I have written to the IEBC to withdraw my candidature and call on my supporters to maintain peace and I can assure them of my continued support even outside parliament,” he stated.
Kamere who was was the sole competitor Of TNA’s Moses Kuria in next week’s by-election  is the second contestant in the by-elections after the widow of former MP Joseph Ngugi, Joyce Wanjiku, who came second in the party primaries held June pulled out of the race.
Kamere, who is believed to command a huge support in the President’s constituency lost to Joseph Ngugi (the late MP) in the TNA nominations in 2013 but later emerged second when he opted to contest the seat on a Narc ticket.
